Majestic Bombay Double End Dog Dental Tooth Scaler Tartar Remover + Stainless Steel Dental Inspection Mirror Review

***Tip from a professional: Don't use this if you and your dog are not comfortable working in their mouth.  If you and your dog do not have a very trusting relationship, then you and/or your dog could get injured.****

Over the years, I have had several jobs.  Among these jobs, the three I am proudest of are mother, wife, and vet assistant.  As a vet assistant, there were times I was given the opportunities to preform and assist in dental cleanings on dogs, cats, and a rodent or two. That is why I am very excited to bring you this review.

Upon first looking at these tools my first thought is why would you use a mirror while trying to scape a dog's teeth?  A dog's tongue does a great job cleaning in the inside of the dogs teeth normally, so while in human dentistry a mirror is essential, in companion animal dentistry not so much.  The mirror is useless so don't try to use it on your dog.

The scaler is awesome though.  It is very sturdy and great to get right along the gum line to scrape downwards on the tooth. After you scrape the teeth, you might want to flush your dogs mouth with some Virbac Oral Rinse.

If while scraping your dogs teeth, you notice a large amont of puss, loose teeth, or a gum line that is receding, you need to be sure to call your vet.  Sometimes, those things can be signs of bigger problems and will need to be addressed.

One thing I did not like about the scaler is it smelled really bad even before I used it.  So just be sure to clean it really well before you use it.  I am not really sure what the smell was, and I would hate for any chemicals to get in your dog's system.

If you are interested in purchasing the tooth scaler, you can find them on Amazon:

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
